Barely two steps from the skirts, and we are in the cockpit of the Lagoon 42, which impresses by its dimensions.
It must be said that being on the same level across its entire width and up to the front of the saloon, its surface area is maximised. We like the bench seat on the aft beam, the steering and manoeuvring station at mid-height, separate but accessible, protected but convivial at the same time, in a word, efficient.
Although a four-cabin version is of course available, our private owners most often opt for the three-cabin version, which is perfectly in tune with the dimensions of the Lagoon 42.
Like all recent Lagoon boats, the 42 has a stepped mast, a self-tacking solent and rigorous weight control for amazing performance.
Have you seen it sailing under the big Turquoise spinnaker? These images remind us that VPLP's DNA is in offshore racing.
Even when adapted to a family or friendly cruising programme, their hulls and sail plans always rhyme with performance. And because the interior design is like its big brothers, by Nauta, you'll be cruising the nautical miles without even noticing it.
